Tinubu hosts Doguwa, Akpabio, Oyetola at Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu convened a closed-door meeting at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja with three Nigerian political leaders. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Kano State's Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, was the first to arrive at the presidential office at 7:15 pm. Notably, he arrived approximately 20 minutes after the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, who had also made his way to the premises.

Earlier, Akpabio had arrived at the forecourt of the President's office at 6:12 pm, with the Information Minister already present for a meeting with Tinubu. In attendance was Deputy Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, who joined shortly after 7:15 pm, likely ahead of the Federal Executive Council meeting scheduled for the following Wednesday.

The agenda of these meetings remains undisclosed. The Independent National Electoral Commission has set August 19, 2026, as the commencement date for political campaigns leading up to the 2027 elections.
