Tabung Haji backs law amendments to boost governance and preserve depositor trust

On August 18, the Tabung Haji (TH) Board expressed its support for the government's decision to amend the Tabung Haji Act 1995, following the recommendations of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI). The TH Board emphasized that as an Islamic financial institution responsible for managing the savings of Muslims for the purpose of performing the hajj, it remains committed to strengthening governance, transparency, and integrity to safeguard depositors' interests and the institution's sustainability.

TH stated that the institution will continue to support every improvement effort to preserve depositor trust for future generations. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the government's intention to implement amendments to the TH Act 1995 on Facebook, stating that these changes were part of the Madani Government's efforts to strengthen governance and correct any institutional weaknesses.
