연임 실패 정청래 “못 했던 말 하고 살겠다…‘친청’ 당선은 성과”

Former DP nominee 정청래 failed to win the nomination on the 18th, stating he would do anything to ensure a total victory and regime change in the general election. Though he lost the party representative election the day before, the DP faction's majority in the election confirmed his presence for important upcoming stages. In a Facebook post, 전 대표 expressed his intention to "work quietly" for reforms and the unification of four presidents (김대중·노무현·문재인·이재명).

He acknowledged the efforts of 친청로 classified 최민희, 이성윤, 한민수, referring to them as "the precious results you made," and urged, "Party comrades, do not resign, come with 정청래." Following the election, 전 대표 announced he would continue to meet with supporters in private. A source close to 전 대표 told Hangeul that he is not a "resting style," always striving to accomplish something.

However, following his defeat at the party conference immediately after, some expressed concern over his remarks. He regretted not being able to express his thoughts while holding the position of party representative and vowed to "speak and live." Democratic Party Representative 박지원 criticized 전 대표's behavior in an interview with MBC Radio, stating that it is not in the best interest of 전 대표's political future and suggesting that "cleanly embracing the result is a greater democratic act" than the resistance he displayed.
