ST Pharm Announces RNA Symposium on September 8

World-renowned RNA scholars, including Nobel laureate Professor Craig Mello, will convene in Seoul on September 8 to discuss next-generation RNA therapeutics at the RISC 2026 symposium. Organized by ST Pharm, this marks the second international RNA symposium since its inception in 2024, aimed at sharing cutting-edge research and fostering global collaboration.

Professor Mello, known for his 2006 Nobel Prize-winning work on RNA interference (RNAi), will join industry leaders such as John Maraganore, former CEO of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, and Muthiah Manoharan, a Distinguished Scientist at Alnylam. South Korean experts like V. Narry Kim, Professor at Seoul National University, and Ick Chan Kwon, Endowed Chair Professor at KIST, will also participate.

Topics will include mRNA, antisense oligonucleotides (ASO), and small interfering RNA (siRNA). The event, scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will feature lectures, panel discussions, and networking. ST Pharm envisions RISC 2026 as an open innovation platform to revitalize the domestic RNA therapeutics ecosystem, emphasizing cooperation across the entire industry, including production and commercialization.
