Sokoto govt orders intensified operations after fresh Lakurawa attack

The Sokoto State Government has ordered security forces to ramp up operations against the Lakurawa terrorist group following a recent attack that claimed 32 lives and left four soldiers dead. The government announced that 13 members of the Lakurawa group were killed after residents confronted the attackers during the incident.

In a statement, the Special Adviser on Security Matters expressed condolences to the families of the victims and praised the bravery of the deceased soldiers. A high-level delegation, led by the Deputy Governor, will visit the affected areas to assess the damage and identify areas that require immediate intervention. It emphasized the importance of collaboration between security agencies, community vigilantes, and local government councils to enhance intelligence gathering and early warning systems.

The government urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, while providing timely and accurate information to the security forces.
