Seneca Niagara plans $47M hotel overhaul across 22 floors through 2027

A $47 million renovation of nearly every hotel room at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will commence this fall and continue through the end of 2027. The project will update 594 rooms and suites across 22 floors, equating to approximately 394,000 square feet of space. Rather than vacating all affected rooms simultaneously, renovation crews will tackle the hotel in three-floor increments.

Seneca Resorts & Casinos anticipates the project to conclude by December 2027. Kevin Nephew, President and CEO of Seneca Resorts & Casinos, affirmed that the hotel remains a gateway to memorable guest experiences. "With this latest evolution, we continue to elevate our world-class atmosphere and maintain our position as a leader in luxury," he stated.

The investment follows a busy year for the hotel, which saw 181,000 rooms occupied in 2025 and a further 141,000 in 2026 when the project was announced. Seneca Niagara, part of the Seneca Nation, boasts 604 rooms and suites spread over 26 stories and has maintained a AAA Four Diamond Award annually since 2006. In addition to lodging, guests enjoy dining options, the Spa at Seneca, an indoor pool, fitness facilities, retail shops, and meeting spaces. The Seneca Niagara Event Center accommodates up to 2,300 attendees.

This hotel upgrade is part of broader investment efforts by Seneca Resorts & Casinos. In 2026, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino completed a $2.7 million renovation of its Seneca Café and a $5.8 million overhaul of its Thunder Mountain Buffet, slated for completion in November. Further projects at Seneca Niagara, Seneca Allegany, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino are in the planning stages for the upcoming years.

These investments align with the Seneca Nation's broader regional economic impact, which was valued at $1.95 billion in October 2025, supporting over 8,000 jobs and generating $542.7 million in wages. The Nation also contributed $365.9 million in taxes and other government payments, ranking as Western New York's 12th-largest employer.
