President Sheikh Mohamed receives phone call from Donald Trump

On Tuesday, President Sheikh Mohamed of the United Arab Emirates engaged in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. The two leaders engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation and fortifying the relationship between their respective nations. Sheikh Mohamed and Trump also deliberated on the most recent happenings in the Middle East, alongside ongoing efforts to resolve these issues.

It must be noted that the US-Iran conflict persists, with a two-month window for peace talks concluding without any significant progress towards ending the war.

Earlier on Monday, Sheikh Mohamed convened with Sultan Haitham of Oman in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on regional security matters and strategies to enhance economic ties between the two countries. The leaders concurred on the significance of ongoing cooperation to tackle shared regional challenges and underscored the necessity of stronger partnerships to safeguard security and stability.

Additionally, the UAE Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday condemning an Iranian drone attack on Iraq's Kurdistan region. Two explosive-laden drones were launched from Iran's border region and targeted the office of Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the residence of a senior security official in Erbil.

The ministry expressed that this act of aggression constituted a blatant violation of Iraq's and the Kurdistan Region's sovereignty, as well as a threat to their security and stability. Despite no reported casualties or substantial damage, Masrour Barzani characterized the strikes as a "dangerous escalation."
