Peak XV Partners, Together Fund Join Voice AI Unicorn Wispr Flow’s Cap Table

US-based voice AI startup Wispr Flow has secured stakes from prominent Indian investors Peak XV Partners, Girish Mathrubootham-led Together Fund, and Aakrit Vaish’s Activate. These investors joined the $280 Mn Series B round, which elevated Wispr Flow's valuation to $2 Bn. The startup, founded in 2021 by Tanay Kothari and Sahaj Garg, develops AI-powered speech-to-text software.

In addition to Menlo Ventures leading the round, other investors like Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures, 8VC, MVP Ventures, Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater, and PLUS Capital participated. Wispr Flow has partnered with hardware manufacturers to integrate its dictation tools and is now venturing into workplace applications. The startup unveiled its first proprietary speech-to-text model, Canto, which claims to reduce word error rates by over 4X, from 30% to 5-10%.

Peak XV Partners, interested in expanding its AI startup portfolio, is among the investors. Together Fund, which typically focuses on early-stage / seed startups, has shifted its strategy and invested in Wispr Flow, aiming to learn from the company's growth. Activate, a new AI-focused VC fund backed by Aakrit Vaish and ex-Together Fund partner Pratyush Choudhary, also participated in the round.
