IIT Bombay launches e-Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, AI

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has introduced an e-Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CS and AI) to help professionals and graduates enhance their skills in the rapidly evolving field of AI. Offered through the institute's Educational Outreach initiative, the program caters to software developers, engineers, IT professionals, and data scientists with a background in computer science or relevant work experience, as well as fresh graduates with a basic understanding of computer science.

IIT Bombay faculty will lead the program, partnered with EdTech provider Great Learning, and features a mix of online learning options, including synchronous and asynchronous sessions, along with an on-campus immersion experience. The e-PG Diploma aims to provide learners with a solid foundation in computer science and AI concepts, enabling them to adapt, compete, and excel in an increasingly AI-driven world.

As IITs increasingly venture into executive education, a domain historically dominated by Indian Institutes of Management, the trend is driven by rising demand for upskilling, the widespread adoption of online and hybrid learning post-pandemic, stronger industry partnerships, and the financial viability of fee-based programs compared to subsidized undergraduate courses.
