The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed appreciation to his supporters but lamented the violence against party members. In a statement on X, Oyebamiji called for intervention from the Osun State Government and security agencies to curb the growing hostility and attacks on APC members.
He acknowledged that although the party had hoped for a different outcome, they respected the electoral umpire's decision to review the election results. Oyebamiji thanked the voters, party members, and volunteers for their support, emphasizing that the election values are alive and that they would continue working for the development of Osun State.
However, he expressed concern over the escalating violence against APC members, urging the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to take immediate action. The election saw Adeleke, the incumbent Governor, win with 511,067 votes compared to Oyebamiji's 444,815 votes, securing a 66,252-vote margin.
