NDLEA clarifies report of ‘drug bunker’ at Taraba Nursing College

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Taraba State has refuted a social media claim that they discovered a suspected drug bunker at the Taraba State College of Nursing Sciences in Jalingo. In a statement, the agency's Public Relations Officer, Mawoh Paul Voloh, clarified that the organization neither conducted any operation at the college nor issued any related statement.

The NDLEA emphasized that the circulating photographs and narrative should not be attributed to them, as there is no official record of such an operation. The agency is currently engaged in anti-drug operations across the state under the Operation Restore Order, aimed at identifying and dismantling illicit drug activities and trafficking networks.

However, they stressed that not all online reports are official NDLEA operations or statements. The NDLEA cautioned against the publication and circulation of misleading information, which could wrongly link the college, its management, staff, and students to drug-related activities, potentially damaging their reputations. They urged the public and media to verify information with relevant authorities before sharing or disseminating reports regarding their operations.

The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to Operation Restore Order and protecting communities, especially young people, from the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking.
