Montreal police investigating second murder of a woman in three days

Montreal police are investigating the homicide of a 41-year-old woman found dead in an apartment on Monday, marking the second woman killed in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough in three days. The woman was discovered with injuries consistent with a sharp object, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrived at the apartment on 39th Street around 2:25 p.m., where they also found a 35-year-old man seriously injured.

The man has been taken to the hospital and is currently in serious condition. Police have not determined the relationship between the victim and the injured man and have not provided further details about the circumstances leading to the city’s 16th homicide of the year. This follows the discovery of a 44-year-old woman's body in the same borough on Saturday, which police are treating as a suspected femicide.
