Man Utd will reject any bid for Fernandes

Manchester United have committed to rejecting any potential bids for their captain Bruno Fernandes before the transfer deadline next month. Multiple clubs, including Turkish side Galatasaray, as well as Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan, have reportedly been considering making a move for the Portuguese midfielder. However, according to sources at Old Trafford, Galatasaray's proposed £42.7m fee would be futile as United are steadfast in their desire to retain their skipper.

Despite Fernandes' initial reluctance to accept a record-breaking £57m offer from Saudi Pro-League club Al-Hilal last summer, he has since expressed his preference to stay at United. The club's sources confirm that no bids have yet materialized for the 31-year-old, who is under contract for one more year with an option for an additional season. Moreover, the £57m release clause in his contract has already passed.

United's decision to hold fast comes as they are in a strong negotiating position, bolstered by the overwhelming support Fernandes received during last week's pre-season friendly against Leeds. The club is keen to send a clear message that they will do everything in their power to keep their talisman in the squad. The Portuguese forward has been a standout performer this season, tallying a Premier League record 21 assists and is the frontrunner to win the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award for the 2025-26 campaign in Manchester next week.
