Man Utd will reject any bid for Fernandes

Manchester United are set to firmly reject any approach for their captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of the current transfer deadline, according to recent reports. The club has dismissed the prospect of any offers from Turkish side Galatasaray, as well as Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan, as futile. Galatasaray had initially proposed a potential fee of 50 million euros (£42.7m), but sources close to United are confident that the Turkish club would be wasting its time attempting to acquire the Portuguese midfielder.

Fernandes, who is 31 years old, has a year remaining on his current contract, with an option for an additional season. The club maintains that he is not for sale at any price, despite the fact that the Portuguese player felt "hurt" when initially offered a massive deal by Saudi Pro-League club Al-Hilal last summer. United sources have made their position clear, and there have been no bids for Fernandes so far.

With his contract situation and desire to stay at Old Trafford now in hand, it seems clear that Fernandes will continue to don the red jersey. The club's enthusiastic reception for the player during his pre-season match against Leeds in Dublin suggests that supporters would react poorly if it were not apparent that United is doing everything in its power to retain their talisman.

Fernandes has been instrumental in the team's success, recording a Premier League record 21 assists in the 2023-24 season and is currently the favorite to be named PFA Player of the Year for the 2025-26 campaign when announced next week.
