Man in Chucky-style mask terrorises Philadelphia residents

A man donning a Chucky-style mask has been frightening Philadelphia residents, making threats and chasing individuals near City Hall, authorities reported. The Philadelphia Police Department is actively seeking the suspect, who allegedly terrorized at least five people in a recent incident. Surveillance footage captured the masked individual threatening a woman, asking her if she was ready to die.

On August 12, the man chased a woman during her morning run, causing her to stumble and sustain injuries. He fled into an underground rail station while holding a cellphone illuminated by its light, police said. Police Captain Jason Smith stated that the encounters might be part of a social media trend. The suspect faces charges including terroristic threats, simple assault, and other offenses. Residents are reportedly reevaluating their running routes due to the unsettling incidents.
