MacGregor Secures Comprehensive Hatch Cover and Cargo Handling Order for Six LNG-Powered Containerships at Cochin Shipyard Limited

MacGregor has been chosen to provide a full range of cargo handling solutions for six 1,700 TEU dual-fuel LNG-powered containerships being constructed at Cochin Shipyard Limited in India for CMA CGM. The six ships, which will be delivered between 2029 and 2031, are part of CMA CGM's strategy to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2050.

These vessels, which are built to run on LNG and are prepared for low-carbon fuels, are expected to bolster India's position as a key player in global trade and sustainable shipbuilding. The comprehensive scope of work encompasses the design and fabrication of key components, including hatch covers, cell guides, deck stanchions, and fixed container fittings.

This significant order, which was placed in Q2 2026, reflects MacGregor's commitment to delivering high-quality vessels with sustainable solutions that align with market demands.
