Ma Dong-seok joins Netflix's 'Extraction 3' alongside Hemsworth

Korean American actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, is set to join Netflix's action franchise Extraction for its third installment, his agency announced. Ma will be featured in Extraction 3, which is presently in production, alongside Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba. The film will continue the series' focus on Tyler Rake, a former special forces operative turned mercenary portrayed by Hemsworth, who embarks on perilous rescue missions against international criminal organizations.

The plot specifics and Ma's character's role have yet to be revealed. Sam Hargrave will once again take the director's chair, following his work on the previous two films, with David Weil, known for writing the screenplays of the series, contributing to the screenplay. Ma, who gained widespread recognition through his roles in The Roundup series and Train to Busan, is concurrently filming The Roundup 5, the fifth installment of his popular crime film series, in which his character Ma Seok-do assumes the role of leading a metropolitan investigation unit. Production commenced in May and the movie is set for a future release.
