Ma Dong-seok joins Netflix's 'Extraction 3' alongside Hemsworth

Korean American actor Ma Dong-sek, also known as Don Lee, has been added to the cast of Netflix's action franchise "Extraction 3", the actor's agency announced on Tuesday. Ma will appear alongside Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba in the third installment of the series. Currently in production, "Extraction 3" continues the franchise's focus on Tyler Rake, a former special forces operative turned mercenary, portrayed by Hemsworth.

The film's plot and Ma's specific role have not been revealed. Sam Hargrave, who directed the previous two films, will return, with David Weil, the screenwriter of the previous installments, crafting the screenplay. Ma, a rising international star with roles in films like the "Roundup" series and "Train to Busan", is also shooting "The Roundup 5", the fifth installment of his crime film series.

In this film, his character Ma Seok-do takes on the role of leading a metropolitan investigation unit. Filming for "The Roundup 5" commenced in May and is slated for release next year.
