Fulfil PH's pledge for equal allocations for all MPs, DAP urges Anwar

DAP has urged Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to promptly adhere to the party's pre-election promise of equal funding for all Member of Parliament (MP) constituency development projects. The party's chairman, Gobind Singh Deo, has requested the Prime Minister to implement this commitment through legislation to eliminate any political influence in the allocation process. DAP has previously raised this issue with Anwar on multiple occasions and is now demanding immediate action.

The People's Justice Party (PKR) MP Wong Chen had previously claimed that his office was denied access to the MyKhas Portal, a platform used for submitting applications for constituency development funds. Three other PKR MPs from Subang, Petaling Jaya, and Ampang also reported losing access to the portal. Anwar has defended the current system, stating that parliamentary constituency funding is intended for the citizens of those areas and not solely for the elected MP.

Gobind acknowledged Anwar's recent announcement of additional direct funds for each parliamentary constituency as a positive development, but emphasized that it does not adequately address the fundamental issue of equal, non-discriminatory funding for all MPs. He called on the government to further strengthen this commitment by enacting legislation to guarantee equal allocation for every MP in Malaysia.
