Cityflo Bus Ride Transforms Into Photo Journey As Mumbai’s Young Photographers Capture The City Through Their Lens

On World Photography Day, a group of BMC and government school students in Mumbai turned a Cityflo bus ride into a unique photo expedition across the city. The students, who have been participating in an initiative by Cityflo and Salaam Bombay Foundation, captured iconic landmarks from their own unique viewpoints. The journey included stops at the Gateway of India, Mani Bhavan, and the Paradox Museum, among other landmarks.

The program, a collaboration between Cityflo and Salaam Bombay Foundation, aims to provide students with photography training and the chance to explore the city. During their trip, the students captured moments that offer a different perspective of Mumbai, showcasing the city through the eyes of young photographers.

Cityflo, founded in 2015, operates over 1,200 buses and records approximately 18 million rides annually across major Indian cities. Cityflo Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Sankalp Kelshikar highlighted the significance of the program, noting that the photographs provide a unique glimpse of the city as seen by young people.

Salaam Bombay Foundation's Head of Communications, Savio Pashana, emphasized the program's value for the students. It not only gives them an opportunity to visit and photograph iconic places but also helps them build confidence in expressing their views.

Among the students whose work was featured were Harshraj Sahani, Komal Sutar, Prithvi Zende, and Taushef Mansoori. Each shared their experiences during the trip, from Sahani's excitement at photographing the Gateway of India to Sutar's description of the bus journey as a "picnic." Zende, who previously clicked photographs on his father's mobile phone, shared how photography through the Foundation's program has helped him preserve memories and inspired him to continue improving his skills.

Mansoori expressed his desire to keep learning and using photography as a means to capture memorable moments.

The selected photographs will be displayed on Cityflo's platforms in the coming weeks, giving the students a wider audience and extending their work beyond the classroom. The initiative also underscores Cityflo's role beyond its regular urban bus service, using its platform to promote creativity and engagement with the city.
