Arrest all accused in 10 days or will gherao DM office, warns CJP

According to the Chief Justice of Bankura, goons involved in the case must be arrested within ten days, or the party will stage a sit-in at the DM office in Bankura. The demands also include an independent investigation into the actions of the police officers and round-the-clock security for Abdul Khan's family. The family has decided not to accept any compensation but plans to raise funds for the cause.

Abdul Khan visited his village's local government school on August 13 for a CJP campaign and was forcibly entered by armed men, who he claims were local BJP volunteers. The men demanded a video statement from Abdul apologizing for criticizing the school's conditions, claiming he was under external influence. When he refused, the miscreants allegedly attacked him, causing severe neck injuries. Abdul's father, who tried to intervene, suffered a critical head injury and died on Saturday.
