With unity, we will win 2028 election – Bawumia

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2028 general elections, has emphasized the importance of unity within the party. Speaking on Sunday, August 16, when the recently elected NPP Greater Accra Regional executives paid a visit to him, Bawumia stated that unity would be essential for the party's success in the upcoming national elections.

He noted that the recent internal elections should now serve as a catalyst for a collective effort to strengthen the party and prepare for the future.

Bawumia addressed the situation where party members had competed against each other during the regional elections, urging them to set aside their differences and work towards the party's common goal. "This election is over. You had competitors, let us come together," he urged. The NPP's ongoing reorganization following the completion of polling station, electoral area, constituency, and regional elections has provided an opportunity to build a stronger organizational structure, he added.

The NPP is set to hold its national elections on October 3, after which it will have completed another significant stage of its reorganization ahead of the 2028 elections. Bawumia expressed confidence in the party's ability to return to power, attributing it to unity among its members. "I’m telling you if we are united, we will win the 2028 election because that is the key ingredient of victory," he asserted.

He further assured party members that he was ready to collaborate with all sides to help achieve the NPP's objective of winning the 2028 election.
