UPSSSC declares recruitment exam result hours after aspirants stage protest outside its office in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) announced the final results for the Village Panchayat Officer examination on Monday night, just hours after candidates held a protest outside the commission’s office in Lucknow. The protesters demanded the result to be declared within a day or two, claiming that UPSSSC officials had assured them of this during the day.

Ravi Pandey, one of the aspirants, stated that they arrived with the intention of staging an indefinite protest, but the officials promised a prompt declaration of the results.

In a separate incident, candidates applying for 5,512 Junior Assistant posts planned a peaceful protest outside the UPSSSC office on Tuesday to demand the release of their final merit list. Deepak Kumar, an aspirant from Hathras, criticized the prolonged delay, calling it a "criminal act." He pointed out that the vacancies were announced in 2023, the mains exam was conducted in June 2025, and the document verification took place in June of the same year. He emphasized that the extended waiting period was unacceptable.

Chief Secretary Shashi Prakash Goyal intervened in the situation by meeting with various State commissions and recruitment boards to address the issue of timely completion of examinations and result announcements. He stressed the importance of following the annual calendar and setting deadlines for all stages of the recruitment process. Goyal made these remarks in a post on X, the microblogging platform.
