Kushner: US-Iran talks more serious, Gaza disarmament progress possible within 30 days

Jared Kushner, the special envoy for US President Donald Trump, has expressed optimism about the seriousness of ongoing US-Iran talks and the potential for progress on Gaza disarmament within a month. During an interview on Fox News while in the Middle East, Kushner noted that recent discussions between the two nations have been more serious and active than before, though they have not yet reached a final agreement.

He emphasized that Washington and Tehran continue to engage in positive dialogue, yet a comprehensive understanding has not yet been achieved.

Regarding the Gaza Strip, Kushner highlighted significant progress in talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the issue of disarming the territory. He stressed that the United States will not impede Israel's right to self-defense against imminent threats as part of ongoing disarmament negotiations. Regarding discussions with Hamas, Kushner described the group's recent meeting as "very cordial" and mentioned that the organization had expressed the right sentiments.

However, he cautioned that trusting the terrorist group, given its history of atrocities, would require tangible actions from Hamas.

Kushner expressed optimism that progress on the Gaza issue could occur in as little as 30 days, provided both parties cooperate. He expressed hope that Hamas would be serious and sincere in implementing any agreed-upon measures. Moreover, Kushner suggested that Washington could see tangible results in Gaza within the next 30 days, potentially involving the withdrawal of some weapons and the dismantling of tunnels over a period of 60 to 90 days.
