Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei acknowledged the complexities involved in drawing up the maritime transit plan, emphasizing that the agreement aims to protect the sovereign rights and interests of both nations while ensuring safe passage for commercial vessels.

The issue is described as "inherently complex" due to security concerns. Meanwhile, Trump suggested that Iran should "raise a white flag of surrender" and claimed that Washington has a backchannel with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). On the situation in Gaza, Trump reiterated his call for an end to Israeli attacks and claimed that Hamas has agreed to lay down their weapons.
