Soludo congratulates Adeleke on re-election, says victory reflects people’s trust

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has extended congratulations to Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for a second term. Soludo's statement emphasized that the victory reflected the trust placed by the people of Osun State in Adeleke's leadership. Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission officially declared Adeleke the winner following the August 15, 2026, gubernatorial election. Soludo's commendation was conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, who expressed the governor's belief that the election outcome demonstrated the electorate's confidence in Adeleke to lead the state for another four years.

The Anambra State governor also acknowledged the people of Osun State for exercising their democratic rights peacefully, reinforcing the strength of democracy and the citizens' ability to shape their collective future. Soludo urged all political actors in Osun State, including the ruling party, opposition, and civil society, to embrace unity and peace for continued progress.

He wished Governor Adeleke a successful tenure, guided by magnanimity, wisdom, and courage, for the benefit of the people of Osun State.
