Pusat Jantung Sabah dijangka siap suku ketiga 2027
Menjelang suku ketiga 2029, pusat jantung di HQE II itu akan dapat beroperasi, kata Menteri Kesihatan Dzulkefly Ahmad.
Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad announced that the construction of the Sabah Heart Centre at Hospital Queen Elizabeth II (HQE II) is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027. Following its completion, the facility will commence operations within a 24-month period, by the third quarter of 2029, according to the health minister.
The project is a new initiative under the Rolling Plan 1 Malaysia Development Plan (RMK13) with a total cost of RM125 million. The available space at the hospital for the heart centre is sufficient, and the total construction cost encompasses preliminary work, building upgrades, and equipment provision. The Ministry of Health is currently in the process of obtaining necessary approvals, with the feasibility study expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
The minister shared these updates during a special meeting of the Sabah Health Development Joint Action Committee for the year 2026, alongside Sabah Women, Health and Welfare Minister Julita Majungki. Health Chief Executive Officer Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad and KKM Deputy Chief Executive Officer also attended the meeting. The health minister emphasized that this project is among the key priorities of the Ministry of Economics this year.
"It is hoped that by the third quarter of 2027, the construction will be complete and, 24 months later, in the third quarter of 2029, the Sabah Heart Centre will be operational," he stated.
