Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and the Institute of Rural Management (IRM), is launching the digital literacy training component of the Ba-Ikhtiar program in 22 districts. The training will be conducted by IRM, an expert in community development and capacity building, and aims to equip 2,100 women with essential digital skills to help them confidently participate in today's digital economy.
Participants will learn practical skills such as smartphone usage, digital literacy, online communication, internet safety, and access to vital digital services. PTCL will also provide participants with smartphones to enable continued learning beyond the training sessions. PTCL's Chief Marketing Officer, Amad Khan, emphasized that the Ba-Ikhtiar program is built on the belief that true empowerment lies in the ability to create opportunities for oneself.
Meanwhile, IRM's Senior Programme Manager, Anwar Ul Haq, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with PTCL and PPAF and highlighted the value of the Ba-Ikhtiar initiative in promoting inclusive skills development and women's economic empowerment in Pakistan. The rollout of the digital literacy component illustrates PTCL's dedication to advancing digital inclusion and women's empowerment through strategic partnerships that generate lasting social impact.
