Osun Election: Opposition angry Gov Adeleke thanked Tinubu for victory – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, expressed anger among the opposition regarding Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for thanking President Bola Tinubu for his electoral victory. Adeleke secured the governorship position with 511,067 votes, while Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress came in second with 444,815 votes, and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress trailed with 17,180 votes.

Sani stated that the opposition desires Adeleke to adopt a more confrontational stance. He argued on X that the opposition's displeasure stems from Adeleke's gratitude, suggesting the president's assistance in securing his mandate and preventing any attempts to interfere with it. Sani pointed out that electoral success relies on both winning votes and ensuring the accurate collation and proclamation of those votes. He noted that some politicians have lost elections due to issues with the latter.
