MP Robert Mbui accuses Ruto regime of using Vision 2060 to divert focus from 2027 election

Kathiani Member of Parliament Robert Mbui accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of diverting public attention from the 2027 General Election by touting the Vision 2060 development agenda. Speaking on television, Mbui criticized the government for not addressing immediate issues facing Kenyans, such as unemployment, healthcare, education, and the cost of living.

He deemed the Vision 2060 plan "divisive," arguing that Kenyans are focused on their daily struggles and the upcoming election. Mbui questioned the government's ability to deliver on previous long-term development plans, citing the unfulfilled promises of Vision 2030, William Ruto's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, and the National Dialogue Committee report.

The Kathiani MP also highlighted the unfulfilled commitments of the 10-point agenda between the Kenya Kwanza administration and the Orange Democratic Movement, as well as the demands of Gen Z protesters during the 2024 demonstrations. Mbui questioned the relevance of promising employment in 2060 when youth unemployment is a pressing issue today.

He expressed concerns over taxation, healthcare, and education, emphasizing that Kenyans need solutions to their current problems rather than distant promises. Mbui criticized the regime's promises of transforming Kenya into a Singapore-like country, stating that such a transformation requires sustained effort rather than mere political rhetoric.
