Man, 35, dies after motorcycle strikes lorry left without fuel on Tumpat flyover

Tumpat, Aug 17 - A 35-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after a collision with a parked lorry on the Wakaf Bharu flyover, according to Berita Harian (BH). The tragic accident occurred around 5pm as the motorcyclist rode from Kota Bharu towards Pengkalan Kubor. Tumpat district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Khairi Shafie reported that the lorry had been abandoned on the left shoulder of the flyover following an out-of-fuel incident.

The victim, while navigating a bend, reportedly collided with the right rear section of the lorry, resulting in severe chest injuries. Upon arrival at the scene, a medical assistant confirmed the victim's death, and his body was subsequently sent to Tumpat Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which confirmed multiple fatal injuries as the cause of death.

Police are currently investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities urge the public to provide any relevant information to the Tumpat district traffic investigation officer at 09 7257222 or by visiting the district traffic office.
