Jinnah Garden Faces Action Over Alleged Irregularities

The Jinnah Garden Housing Scheme is facing legal action over allegations of irregularities, according to a show cause notice issued by the district administration's Cooperative Societies Department on June 9. The inquiry, conducted by the inquiry officer, Assistant Commissioner Saddar, highlighted various violations of laws and regulations, including the conversion of residential plots for commercial use and the use of amenity land for residential purposes.

The committee is accused of creating and allotting commercial plots in violation of the PPRA rules and the Islamabad Land Disposal Regulations, 2005, as well as transferring society land, including amenity land, to another housing society under questionable circumstances. Financial irregularities, such as failure to recover dues and losses to the society and public exchequer, were also cited.

The committee denied the allegations during the inquiry, but the inquiry officer dismissed their defense, stating that the allegations had been proven. The department has given the former committee seven days to respond and offered a personal hearing on June 17.
