Former Chelsea striker Batshuayi joins Abha

Former Chelsea and Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi has signed with newly promoted Saudi Pro League team Abha, the club announced on Monday. The 32-year-old arrived at Abha from German side Eintracht Frankfurt, where he played for two seasons after joining them from Turkish champions Galatasaray in February 2025. Batshuayi scored four goals in 21 appearances for Frankfurt in all competitions.

Abha took to the social media platform X to share pictures from the signing ceremony, captioning the post: "One chance is all he needs ... Michy Batshuayi is Abhawi." The striker has a storied career, having played for numerous clubs including Standard Liege, Olympique de Marseille, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Besiktas, Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray.

Batshuayi was also a key member of Belgium's national team, participating in their squads that finished third at the 2018 World Cup and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Abha kicked off their comeback to the top flight with a 2-1 loss to Al Hazem in their opening match.
