Former Chelsea striker Batshuayi joins Abha

Former Chelsea and Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi has signed with Abha, a newly promoted team in the Saudi Pro League, on Monday, the club announced. The 32-year-old arrived at Abha from German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, where he had spent a brief stint after joining from Turkish champions Galatasaray in February 2025. During his time at Frankfurt, Batshuayi scored four goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Abha confirmed the signing on X, sharing pictures from the ceremony and declaring, "One chance is all he needs ... Michy Batshuayi is Abhawi." The striker has a distinguished career, having played for various clubs including Standard Liege, Olympique de Marseille, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Besiktas, Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray.

Batshuayi was also part of the Belgian national team that finished third at the 2018 World Cup and participated in the 2022 tournament in Qatar. Abha kicked off their return to the top flight with a 2-1 loss to Al Hazem last week.
