Foreign woman relieves herself at Phuket beachwear shop doorway

CCTV footage from a market in Phuket captured a foreign woman urinating at a beachwear shop doorway. The video, posted on Phuket Times' Facebook page on August 15, showed the woman in white shorts and a tank top entering the store, stopping at the entrance, and relieving herself before walking away. An elderly woman, presumably the shop owner, was seen approaching the scene shortly before the video ended.

The foreign woman's identity remains unknown, and it is unclear if the shop owner reported the incident to the authorities. Similar incidents have occurred at tourist areas in Thailand, including a woman urinating outside a restaurant on Koh Tao in December and two men defecating on a public road in Phuket in February. The owner of a Phuket restaurant had previously complained about a foreign woman defecating outside his establishment, citing the lack of public toilets as a contributing factor.

Public urination and defecation are considered offences under Thai law, with fines typically ranging from a few thousand baht. Municipal officers, rather than the police, usually handle these cases.
