Adeoye Gabriel Adewale and De Lukas Global Concept Limited were arraigned in the Oyo State High Court on August 13, 2026, before Justice Olusola Adetujoye. According to the EFCC, Adewale posed as a car dealer and, through a fake car mart, convinced Abdulrasaq Awotedo to pay N7,819,000 for the purchase of two vehicles.
The money was allegedly deposited into De Lukas Global Concept Limited's First Bank account before being converted by Adewale for his personal use. The defendants were charged with stealing through conversion, with the charge stating that they converted N7,819,000 of Awotedo's property between October 6, 2021, and March 23, 2022, depriving him of his rightful possession.
Adewale pleaded not guilty, and his counsel requested bail during the trial. The court adjourned the case to hear the bail application and remanded Adewale in Agodi Correctional Centre.
