‘Delusional to think it’ll be like Osun election’ – Rufai Oseni predicts 2027 election

Arise Television's The Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, cautioned Nigerians against assuming that the 2026 Osun State governorship election results would be replicated in the 2027 general elections. Oseni highlighted the risks associated with the 2027 elections and urged voters to prepare for potential challenges, suggesting that federal intervention could be more widespread this time around.

Speaking on Monday, Oseni explained that his warnings during the Osun election were meant to inform voters rather than alarm them. He emphasized the importance of accurately conveying the risks involved, stating, "I like to say it the way it is. Tell them the risks involved, and I think it worked for the Osun people because they knew the risks involved."

Oseni further warned that Nigerians should not underestimate the 2027 election by drawing parallels with the Osun election, adding, "If you think because Osun people stood up, it will be easy in 2027, you are foolish. You are delusional." The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party as the winner of the Osun governorship election on Sunday.
