American actress Hayden Panettiere dies at 36

Hayden Panettiere, a renowned actress recognized for her roles in "Heroes" and "Remember the Titans," has passed away at the age of 36, according to her representative. Her father, Skip Panettiere, shared the heartbreaking news through a statement to CBS News, expressing profound sadness over the loss. He described her as an "incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her."

The family has requested privacy during their period of mourning, with no further details provided about the cause of her death.

Panettiere's acting career spanned over three decades, encompassing both films and television. Besides her iconic roles in "Heroes" and "Remember the Titans," she also made appearances in the "Scream" horror film series and the TV drama "Nashville." In recent months, she had been open about the challenges of life in the spotlight as a young actor. Panettiere released her memoir, "This Is Me: A Reckoning," in May, which detailed her childhood and experiences with addiction, physical abuse, and her recovery journey.

In a recent interview with CBS News and Gayle King, Panettiere candidly discussed her struggles in the entertainment industry. She revealed that her mother's presence during her auditions and her early exposure to the industry's demands began at age five, culminating in over 50 commercials by that time. Her mother's disapproval of her performance could ruin her day, a sentiment that weighed heavily on the young actress.

Panettiere entered a treatment facility in October 2015 to address postpartum depression after the birth of her first child, Kaya, in December 2014. In 2018, she granted primary custody of Kaya to her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko.
