Adeleke’s dancing was political language, not weakness — APC youth leader

Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, has defended Governor Ademola Adeleke's dancing as a political strength that helped him connect with voters in the Osun State gubernatorial election. In a Facebook post, Israel argued that Adeleke's ability to sing, dance and interact with the grassroots gave him an edge over his opponent, Bola Oyebamiji.

The APC candidate won the election with 511,067 votes compared to Oyebamiji's 444,815 votes. Israel identified three key figures in the election, including Adeleke, who he said embodied the election's emotional and grassroots appeal. He highlighted Adeleke's dancing as a "political language" that humanized him and created emotional proximity with voters.

Israel also praised Davido, the governor's nephew and singer, for helping to mobilize young voters through his influence and digital reach. He questioned whether the APC has similar personalities capable of connecting with voters. Israel urged the party to address internal divisions and weak grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general election.
