Abridge expands AI decision support to more clinicians in bid to become healthcare's copilot

Since April, over 300 enterprise health systems have adopted Abridge's AI-based decision support solution, expanding its reach to every clinician at these partner health systems. This marks a growth strategy for Abridge, aiming to become an enterprise AI assistant for clinicians. Shiv Rao, M.D., CEO and co-founder of Abridge, explained that the decision support solution feels natural, understands the patient context, is grounded in trusted evidence, and connects with clinicians' next steps.

Monthly active users of the CDS solution have grown to more than half of eligible Abridge clinicians, with queries per clinician tripling in the past two months. With increasing competition in the clinical AI market, Abridge relies on its enterprise relationships with numerous health systems to drive growth. These 300 health systems serve over 250 million patients.

Health systems can deploy the clinical intelligence agent through existing infrastructure, ensuring security, governance, and integration with electronic health records. The solution integrates with trusted medical literature sources, such as Wolters Kluwer's UpToDate, The New England Journal of Medicine, and the JAMA Network. Duke Health, which uses Abridge, shared how clinicians have utilized the solution to manage various cases, enhancing patient care and allowing physicians to practice at their highest level.

Abridge's technology is currently deployed across 300 health systems, facilitating over 100 million clinical conversations annually, and aims to bring decision support to all clinicians within these organizations.
