Yemeni official: Houthi escalation aims to widen conflict, serve Iran's interests

Yemen's deputy information minister, Fayadh Al-Naaman, has stated that the Houthi escalation is aimed at expanding the conflict and furthering agendas connected to Iran's Revolutionary Guard. Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Naaman emphasized that the Houthi group's actions are solely focused on advancing Iran's objectives, and that the group bears responsibility for the humanitarian consequences of their actions against the Yemeni people.

He highlighted that Yemeni forces have utilized heavy artillery to target Houthi positions, and affirmed the unity of the Yemeni society in confronting what he described as Houthi aggression. Al-Naaman stressed that the ongoing escalation is exacerbating the humanitarian and security situation in the country, and threatens to further escalate the conflict as the group continues to pursue its Iran-aligned agendas.
