Yankees OF Cody Bellinger to begin rehab assignment Tuesday

Outfielder Cody Bellinger will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday and may rejoin the Yankees next weekend, according to manager Aaron Boone. Bellinger has been sidelined since July 26 due to a strained left hamstring. He is set to play on Tuesday and Thursday, likely with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, as per Boone's statement before Sunday's game at Toronto.

Bellinger recently re-signed with the Yankees last winter for a $162.5 million deal spanning five years. He was recognized as the 2026 All-Star Game MVP in Philadelphia. The star outfielder is currently batting .259 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs in 102 games this season.

Notably, three-time MVP Aaron Judge is slated to throw and run in New York today. Judge has been out since May 31 due to a broken right rib. On Friday, Judge made his first throw since going on the injured list. Left-hander Carlos Rodón (elbow) is also expected to participate in a minor league rehab start on Tuesday, though the Yankees have yet to determine his pitching location. Rodón has made two minor league starts this month, one at Triple-A and another at Double-A Somerset.
