Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian control and will only be opened or closed with Iran's permission. The United States President Donald Trump had claimed he would soon declare the Strait of Hormuz part of US territory. Iran has demanded the end of hostilities against its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq, along with lifting sanctions, releasing frozen assets, and compensating for wartime damage.

While negotiations have been unsuccessful, attacks in the Strait of Hormuz have persisted, posing risks to regional shipping. The UAE state-owned oil giant ADNOC reported that one of its vessels was attacked, and Abu Dhabi's foreign ministry blamed Iran, alleging the Revolutionary Guards engaged in piracy. Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon resulted in at least 11 deaths, following a Hezbollah attack that injured three Israeli soldiers.

Iran condemned the strikes, stating they were brutal actions by the "Zionist regime." Iran claimed that Qatar was holding three of its missing pilots since March, a claim Qatar denied. Qatar initially stated it had shot down two Iranian bombers, later confirming the remains of one pilot, which Iran had requested to review.
