Ukraine Disabled 7 of 10 Largest Wildberries Warehouses

On August 16, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported that seven out of the ten largest logistics centers operated by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries had been disabled. The Koledino warehouse, the company's largest at 250,000 square meters, ceased operations after a large-scale drone attack early Sunday. A second warehouse in Domodedovo also halted activities.

The Defense Ministry attributed the consequences of the war to Russian logistics in Ukraine. The drone attack caused a significant fire at the Koledino complex and a multimodal logistics complex in Domodedovo. This attack is part of a sustained campaign targeting Wildberries' physical and digital infrastructure, which the company accounts for about 10% of Russia's retail sales.

Prior to the latest attacks, Wildberries had already lost up to a third of its warehouse space, with destroyed goods valued at approximately 480 billion rubles. The Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate's cyber attack on Aug. 10-11 further compounded the damage, disrupting customer service, payment infrastructure, and preventing financial transactions.

Since mid-July, Ukraine has targeted at least 23 Wildberries facilities. Despite selling goods used by the Russian military, Wildberries denies supplying the armed forces.
