The U-17 Korean girls' volleyball team finished in sixth place at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U17 World Championship, which was held in Nicosia, Cyprus, from August 11 to 20. The Korean team, led by head coach Park Soon-ja, was defeated by the Dominican Republic 1-3 (25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 20-25) in the fifth-place match on the final day of the tournament. In the match, Korean middle blocker Son Seo-yeon recorded 17 points, including 10 blocking points. The Korean team had previously lost to Japan in the quarterfinals and then lost to Brazil in the classification match for fifth place. In the classification matches, Korea beat Argentina 3-2 and lost to the Dominican Republic to finish in sixth place. Son Seo-yeon, who played as a main player in the team, recorded a total of 179 points, including 47 blocking points, throughout the tournament, ranking third in scoring.
