Two PLA Hong Kong Garrison summer camps conclude

Two military summer camp programmes run by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison concluded on Sunday, with over 500 students attending the final ceremonies at San Wai Barracks. Chief Executive John Lee inaugurated the events and awarded certificates to the participants. In his speech, Lee expressed his belief that the camp strengthened the students' love for the country and Hong Kong through intense physical training, discipline, and a firsthand experience of the PLA soldiers' commitment.

Lee outlined three key expectations for the youth: to steadfastly uphold their beliefs and patriotism, work diligently to improve their skills, and assume responsibility by applying their knowledge in practical ways to contribute to Hong Kong's prosperity and the nation's rejuvenation. Lai Ruxin, Political Commissar of the Garrison, also spoke to the attendees, describing them as the driving force behind the nation's future.

He expressed hope that they would utilize their newfound understanding to positively impact society. One secondary student, now in his second year of the programme, shared that the experience deepened his comprehension of the Hong Kong Garrison, motivated him to step out of his comfort zone, and provided him with essential first-aid training.
