Troy Aikman is going to face Tom Brady-like announcing restrictions amid Dolphins job

Troy Aikman, the former Cowboys quarterback, has taken on a consultant role with the Miami Dolphins, similar to Tom Brady's ownership stake in the Raiders' announcing restrictions. The NFL has placed similar limitations on Aikman, barring him from attending practices at team facilities. According to an NFL spokesperson, the restrictions are in place to ensure that coaches and clubs maintain control over what they share with the analysts.

Both Aikman and Brady can attend virtual production meetings, but they are not permitted to access practice facilities or games involving their own club. They can, however, conduct interviews with football personnel and players outside of team facilities, either at the team hotel or in a designated area away from other football personnel.

The restriction on criticizing league officials remains an awkward aspect of their broadcasting responsibilities. Aikman, who has been a color commentator for 25 years, will have to adapt to these new rules when working alongside Joe Buck on NBC's Monday Night Football.
