Terror Strikes Pakistan's Balochistan: Two Women Shot Dead, Seven Terrorists Killed

In Pakistan's Balochistan region, a terror attack on Saturday claimed the lives of two women from a Sindh family. Simultaneously, security forces in the province killed seven terrorists during a separate operation in Kharan district. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported the military's media wing, stating that the attack occurred in the Laje area of Kharan after intelligence input indicated the presence of terrorists.

The ISPR confirmed that the seven terrorists belonged to the banned group Fitna al-Khwarij. The series of security operations in Balochistan intensified following a deadly attack on a police checkpost at Mangi Dam pumping station in Ziarat on July 6, where armed attackers kidnapped and killed 27 policemen. On August 12, 21 people, including 18 terrorists, were killed in a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device explosion and subsequent security operations in the province.

Earlier, on August 9 and 10, 20 terrorists were killed over two days. In a separate incident, a family from Karachi, visiting Balochistan for business, came under fire in Segi, a tribal area in Qilla Abdullah. Following a failure to stop, a tribal group opened fire on the family's vehicle. Two women were killed, while a man and his daughter were injured and transported to Quetta's Trauma Centre in critical condition. Segi is known as a no-go area due to an ongoing tribal conflict.
