Bigg Boss 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana dismissed the online uproar over her recent remarks about religion and her past relationship with Asim Riaz as a "storm in a teacup". In her Instagram story, she stated that her comments were based solely on her personal experience and not meant to disparage anyone.

The controversy arose after Himanshi discussed her relationship with Asim on Paras Chhabra's podcast. When asked about reports that she was considering converting to another religion while dating Asim, she clarified that she would not use the term "conversion". Instead, she mentioned that they were sharing positive aspects of their respective religions, which was a good thing.

Himanshi expressed that she was not comfortable with the idea of converting to Asim's religion. She added that while the person she was referring to wanted her to understand and accept the positive aspects of his religion, she did not agree with this approach. Himanshi revealed that she felt she was betraying her faith and thought about visiting the Chaar Dham and completing her temple visits before making any decision.

The actress emphasized that there was no mistreatment involved in their relationship and that the situation did not affect her personally in a negative way. Her relationship with Asim began during their stint on Bigg Boss 13, where he was a wild card contestant and she was engaged to her boyfriend Chow. The couple continued their relationship after the show and announced their separation in 2023 due to differences in religious beliefs.
