Rexy confirms no monkey or pigeon business at World Championships venue

KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky has assured that no monkeys or pigeons have been observed at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium ahead of the World Championships in New Delhi. This confirms that Malaysia's campaign commenced without any disruptions since Saturday's training session. The championships are set to begin on Monday, marking India's second hosting of the event after the 2009 edition in Hyderabad.

Rexy stated that there have been no issues with the venue, allowing uninterrupted training. He highlighted that the training courts have undergone refurbishment, the toilets are new, and the main court is in an excellent condition. The stadium faced criticism during the India Open in January due to hygiene concerns and delays caused by birds, which led to calls for relocation or cancellation of the event.

However, Rexy's positive assessment has reassured players, and Datuk Jack Koh expressed confidence that the organizers have addressed the issues and ensured the venue is properly maintained.
